5 Signs You're Ready for an Agent!

Are you looking for an agent but not sure if you’re ready to get represented?

Here are 5 signs that indicate you might be ready for representation:

1. You Have Acting Training

Whether through acting classes, workshops, or formal education, consistent training shows that you’re serious about your craft. Agents want to know you’re dedicated and have the skills to compete in auditions.

2. You Have Professional Headshots & Resume

If you’ve invested in high-quality headshots and crafted a professional resume that highlights your experience, you’re ready to present yourself as a serious actor. These materials are essential for catching an agent’s attention.

3. You Have an IMDb Profile with TV/Film Credits

Having an IMDb profile with credits from TV or film work is a great indicator that you’ve gained traction in the industry. It shows agents you’re already getting work and are ready for bigger opportunities.

4. You Have an Acting Reel

A solid acting reel that showcases your range and talent is a must when approaching agents. It’s your opportunity to impress them and shows them that you have booked work and have worked on set before.

5. You Just Joined a Union or Became SAG-Eligible

If you’ve just joined a union like SAG-AFTRA or have become eligible, it’s a strong sign you’re ready for an agent. That would be a great time to pursue representation and let them know that you joined SAG or became eligible.

Now you don’t necessarily need all these things to pursue representation however these factors will help you tremendously in securing great representation.
